Episode 2: Vonage Broadband Phone Service

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

Under $50 Recommendation:
Vonage Broadband Phone Service
www.vonage.com

Reason:
Support new technology and save money. My switch from traditional phone service to broadband phone service saved me over $40.00 per month. Additionally there are tons of additional features that do not cost extra. These include things like email notification of voicemail with or without message attachments. Call forwarding that can be changed, setup or turned on and off from the phone or the internet, etc.

Look into it. Vonage is my personal choice, I tried others but the quality was not as good. Also check out my recent blog on the topic.

Episode 2: Concerts

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

If you like music at all, going to a concert of any band you like is well worth it. Especially if you’ve never gone to a concert before.

Tickets are never over $50, and are actually usually much less than that.

In my experience, concerts at smaller venues tend to be the most fun, and luckily, these are usually cheaper.

Episode 2: Gmail

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

Google mail, better known as Gmail, is a great way to spend nothing. It is an email client, and in my opinion, is the best one out there. It is incredibly user friendly. There is 1GB of free storage, so you dont have to delete anything. It uses Google technology so you can search your mail fast and easy to find whatever email you are looking for, whether it has been sent or recieved.

The only setback is that you must be invited by someone already using Gmail in order to use the service. However, ask around. I am sure there are plenty of open invites out there (I personally have 49).

Episode 2: Travel

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

An excellent way to spend $500 is to travel. If you keep an eye out on some of the discount traveling sites like orbitz.com, priceline.com, or travelocity.com, you can find some really good deals, and go almost anywhere for a few days for under $500.
